PPE as Prelaw

Thinking about law school? Start with PPE.

Mason’s Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) concentration offers excellent preparation for law school. You can major in Economics, Philosophy, or Political Science while learning to tackle questions about rights, justice, markets, and government from all three perspectives.

Law school demands close reading, clear writing, careful reasoning, and the ability to make a convincing argument. PPE gives you repeated practice with those skills. You’ll examine competing views of justice, analyze evidence and incentives, and explore how laws and public decisions work in practice.

Build a path that fits your interests

Whether you’re drawn to constitutional questions, business and regulation, public policy, or another area of law, PPE lets you explore those interests before applying to law school. See how PPE fits into your major and talk with an adviser early to plan your courses.

You can also take advantage of Mason’s Patriot Pre-Law Program for pre-law advising, application guidance, and opportunities to connect with the legal field.
